Lumpkin Park March 2014

This was my first trip up the Chestatee wit h a fellow LAKE member. We put in at Lumpkin Park and went up to just below the bridge (19/400).

A nice little bay to cross before snaking through the willow trees for a short cut.

The river is very slow moving but there are plenty of places to catch fish.

I only caught the one Black bass ("Spot") but Greg (YakDawg) caught a Crappie and a nice Carp on ultr Light....

Over all, this is a very nice paddle with little to no boat traffic. You can easily paddle upstream and drift back down. You will more than likely have to paddle some to get back at a reasonable time as current is very slow.
