This trip was mostly for relaxation and to run the boat some. It had been in the garage way too long. That being said, I did stop on the dam and pick up a dozen Bluebacks! There were a couple of other people in the store but everyone kept their distance.
Once I got my bait transferred into my bait tank I headed to East Bank to put in. Since I arrived late, the lot was quiet although there were a lot of trucks there.
I ran over a school of about 6 fish right out from the ramp but I did not stop to set up there. In hindsight, I should have. I hardly marked any fish for the rest of the trip. I trolled around for a while and had a few strong pull-downs that did not produce fish. I was trolling weighted leaders about 25-30 feet down.
I had this little duck troll along with me for a good while but I could not get him to eat a herring. He left for a bit but came right back with his girlfriend. She would not eat either. I think they are used to people throwing them junk food, like bread and stuff. :(
After fishing a bit I ran up to Lanier Island and watched some golf for a bit while also face timing my sister. Once the call was over I packed up and headed for the ramp.
I saw the ranger writing tickets and I remembered I had not hung my placard (pass)on the rearview! No ticket on the windshield so I think I dodged that bullet!
Overall it was a very nice day even though I did not catch any fish. It was great to get out of the house!
