After stopping for some bait on the dam, we were on the lake by 8. We left East Bank and headed to the first cove on the right for some trolling. No fish were marked so I ran up to Shoal Creek to meet up with a friend of mine who was out on his kayak fishing. He was marking lots of bait but I did not mark any fish so I left him to it and headed over to the Island. We checked out the golf course from the boat and watched a few tee offs. Definitely a different perspective from the water!
By then it was just about time for lunch so I ran up to Pig Tales for some ribs and brisket. Yum!
Here is a shot of Jim making friends with one of the local pups!
From there we headed back towards the dam for an early day of it. We decided to troll the last bit in and lucked into a couple fish! Jim got a Striper and I got a cat. That made for a great day on the water!
In the works...
My local Camp and Paddle is coming up, watch for a post soon!
The annual Bear Island trip was canceled due to the recent hurricane :( We are looking for an alternative!
