L.A.K.E. Fall Camp & Paddle 2015

     Right after returning from the Island trip, I headed to my local lake for some camping and fishing with my kayak club.

    I stayed Friday thru Sunday. I only caught one Bass but it was a very nice get together! I did mark a pile of fish next to the boat ramp on my way out Sunday but  I couldn't get any to take my bait.

Bear Island, NC 2015

    Another year on the water at Bear Island. As usual it was a great trip. This year I made a short video to give viewers a feel for the trip. We arrived Monday the 19th and stayed until Wednesday the 21st. I will post the photos here even though they are also in the video.

Predator, Back in Business!

    The replacement Predator showed up!

    I got it all rigged up and ready to go.

    I also painted my bait tank and gear box to match the camo color of the yak.

    I decided  I want to run my bait tank on the same battery as the fish find so I made a jumper I can plug into one end and connect to the battery on the other. This way I did not have to change anything on the tank and I can still use he battery pack I made if I choose to. Construction is two 16 gauge wires and a car coil boot. I covered the wires with wire loom and I filled the boot with silicon before pressing the connector in. Turned out pretty good.

    I have a connector on my battery for my charger. I plan to match that connector on a 12v receptacle so I can plug it in only when I want for charging a cell phone or running the pump on the tank.
